Even when we absorb information for entertainment, it impacts our beliefs and biases. Critically evaluating representation of disabilities in fictional characters and our resulting thoughts contributes to the shift.

Positive Representation
Whether real or fictional, the best representation of disability in media consults and compensates people with disabilities and their lived experiences. Disability is portrayed as a fact, NOT a problem to be cured; it does not necessarily need to be the center of a plot line or character arc. Ideally, people with disabilities are portrayed by performers with that disability whenever possible. Production should include accessible workspaces and releases.
